Thanks for the correction. I misread that when I looked up the materials that could be cut with CO2 laser cutters.
Yeah, that would be another material that you could use for a cool effect. I believe most laser cutters can cut aluminum, so that should definitely be possible.Another possibility that I've actually seen is purchasing blank aluminum ID tags, and using a small CNC machine (I believe specifically an Othermill) to engrave your name onto the tag.

Hi ZacharyB64,That's a very interesting Instructable, however I have never seen it before. And even though both projects use a laser cutter and CAD to design, they don't seem to have many similarities beyond that. That Instructable is for making buttons with symbols on them, and mine is for making a name tag using periodic table elements.Also it looks like some of the symbols in that Instructable are custom made; everything that I use in mine is simply Arial font text. If my Instructable had been based off of or inspired by any others, I definitely would have cited them.
